Michael Jopling, MD is an executive vice president with Accel Anesthesia. Dr. Jopling is the chief architect of Accel Anesthesia’s first technology product AccelOR which is a 100% workflow based anesthesia electronic health record which facilitates scheduling, quality, efficiency, patient care and billing processes.


Prior to founding Accel Anesthesia, LLC Dr. Jopling spent his first 14 years of professional practice in academic anesthesia between West Virginia University and The Ohio State University. During his time at WVU he served as Section Chief of Cardiovascular Anesthesia, Vice-chairman, and OR Director. Since 1998, he has been in private practice at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital - a busy community hospital in Westerville Ohio (a suburb of Columbus) that is in transition to becoming a larger regional facility. While there he has served actively on many hospital committees for extended periods, 10 years as the Chairman of Anesthesiology, Chairman of the Surgical Administrative Committee and 2 years as President of the Medical Staff. Dr. Jopling also serves as President of the professional anesthesia corporation, Central Ohio Anesthesia, Inc that provides anesthesia services to his hospital.

Over the years his administrative experience and knowledge of anesthesia and operating room processes resulted increasing consultations in areas of patient safety, contracting, quality improvement, surgeon satisfaction, staffing, recruiting, pharmaceuticals and technology.

Samuel Kiehl is an executive vice president with Accel Anesthesia who focuses on hospital contracting and corporate governance. Samuel has practiced emergency medicine for nearly 40 years, serving in numerous leadership and consulting roles throughout his career. He is an expert in hospital contracting, stipend analysis, business development, revenue cycle management, leadership, mergers and acquisition, managed care contracting, staffing, and compensation modeling.


In 1980, Samuel successfully formed and grew a practice management and staffing company, Olentangy Emergency Physicians. He served as President for 20 years before selling the business to Premier Health. As President, he negotiated hospital contracts, developed hospital relationships, and managed a large group of physicians. To support Olentangy Emergency Physicians, Samuel formed a revenue cycle management company, Physicians Professional Management Corporation.

With the success of Olentangy Emergency Physicians and Physicians Professional Management Corporation, Samuel was asked to share his knowledge and expertise. He served as a member of the Reimbursement Committee of American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), chairman of the Reimbursement Committee of Ohio Chapter of ACEP, treasurer of Ohio Chapter of ACEP, Chairman of the Finance Committee of Ohio Chapter of ACEP, Director of the Board of Ohio Chapter of ACEP, and Medical Director of Employee Health and Emergency Services at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to his many professional appointments, Samuel has provided his expert advice in his community and with other businesses. He has presented dozens of times to varying audiences on leadership and successful business practices. Samuel has served on the board of directors of banks, manufacturing companies, and technology companies. He has also volunteered as the medical director of several community fire departments and as a leader of his church.

Craig Adkins is an executive vice president with Accel Anesthesia who focuses on revenue cycle management. Craig has been a leader in the field of revenue cycle management for more than 20 years. He is an expert in charge capture analysis, payer contract compliance, managed care contracting, receivables management, billing performance analysis and process improvement.


Craig's prior experience includes his role as Sr. Operations Manager for two of the largest practice management and physician billing service companies in the US—focusing primarily on hospital-based specialty practices; and also his role as Director of Professional Fee Billing for a large primary care network. Additionally, Craig has been Chief Operating Officer of a large, regional physician revenue cycle management and consulting company for over 10 years. His experience includes structuring revenue cycle operations and employing technology to achieve maximum revenue performance and operational efficiency. He also has extensive experience managing the recovery of legacy system accounts receivable.
